Dr. Laura Chen

Dr. Laura Chen spent the majority of her childhood in Cary, NC and graduated from Green Hope High School. She then earned a BS in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her time in undergrad, she founded the Carolina Pre-Optometry Association and worked at an optometry private practice in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Chen received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating summa cum laude. Her clinical externships included the University Eye Center at Los Angeles, Travis Air Force Base, Ketchum Health in Anaheim, CA, and Orange County Retina. Following optometry school, she completed a residency at the VA San Diego Healthcare System where she gained further experience in ocular disease management.

​​​​​​​After their California adventure, Dr. Chen and her husband moved back to the Triangle area. They now have a baby boy and two kitties. In her free time, she enjoys cooking new recipes, yoga, and exploring new destinations.

Dr. Misa Sueyoshi

Dr. Misa Sueyoshi is originally from San Diego, California. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in Biology from Point Loma Nazarene University before venturing into the field of pre-clinical research in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Her passion for eye care led her to Philadelphia, where she completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she served as class president and contributed to the North Carolina Optometric Student Association.

Dr. Sueyoshi trained in the Triangle area with the goal to practice in North Carolina. She loves working with patients of all ages and is passionate about keeping them educated on their eye health. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina Optometric Society.

In her downtime, Dr. Sueyoshi, along with her fiancé, calls Durham home. Her interests include painting, baking, and home improvement projects.

Dr. Danielle Yamamoto

Dr. Danielle Yamamoto was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from NC State University before pursuing her Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her training, she completed clinical rotations at the Durham Veterans Affair Medical Center and a private practice specializing in contact lenses.

Following graduation, Dr. Yamamoto completed a residency at the Greenville Veterans Affair Health Care Center, where she specialized in ocular disease. She provided comprehensive eye care to veterans and gained extensive experience managing conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She is a proud member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina Optometric Society.

After spending several years away, Dr. Yamamoto is excited to return to the Raleigh–Durham area. Outside of the office, she enjoys working out with her husband, trying to keep her plants alive, and spending time with her two Shih Tzus, Yogi and Stormi.
